A church celebration followed by a traditional feast in the cute little monastery of “Aghii Pateres” (“Άγιοι Πατέρες”), just minutes away from Diodati Villas. The story of the celebration: The sixth Sunday after Holy Pascha is dedicated by our church to the memory of the 318 Holy Fathers , who took part in the First Ecumenical Council held in Nicaea in Bithynia in 325 AD. The meeting convened at the invitation of Constantine the Great in the twentieth year of his reign and lasted 3.5 years . Some great attendants of the session were Alexander of Constantinople , Alexander of Alexandria , Athanasius the Great , Eustathius of Antioch , the Makarios of Jerusalem , the Paphnoutios , Spiridon , Nicholas , etc. The First Ecumenical Council condemned Arius and Arianism. Decided the first correct terms of the Christian doctrine and especially the importance of the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ, as consubstantial with God, the Father. He produced the first seven articles of the Faith.
